Athletics day

On Tuesday 25th Feb I woke up and got ready for School athletics day, I got all my red stuff ready then went to the Domain. When I got there I was just hanging out with my friends and put my red stuff on, We got told to go onto the field at 9 am. We all went to the field then walked around the field once, when we had walked around the field we all did our house chants. Everyone went to there houses did the rolls then got signed off to their activity.

Year 7&8 girls went to high jump first, I'm not the best at high jump so I only passed the first height. Some people were still there when we went to the shot put, the line was long for shot put but I just stood around and waited for my name to get called out. Shot put was easy, Shot put finished so we went to our next event which was Javelin. Instead of using an actual javelin we just used a Nerf gun because a javelin is to heavy and dangerous for the year 7&8's to use.

We all finished throwing the Nerf gun and Jeana won so she actually got to use the actual javelin, she said was heavy. When that finished we all went off to go to long jump, I love long jump because its really fun. We all waited in line until it was our turn, the first jump I did I didn't get the score but the second jump I got 3.60 m which was the best so I won that one( Dayna got 3.54m ). All happy and having fun we went to 100 m sprints, I was 2nd in that heat but I think I came 3rd overall.

All the heats were done so we went to 200 m and I was in the first heat again, I came 1st overall I think. That finished so we all went over to discus, I'm not a big fan of discus but I wanted to do all of them so I did it anyways. I can't remember who won that one but I think it was Agcym, we all went to have lunch and stuff because the morning activities were all finished. We got called to the middle of the field when Mr Ward called out the year 7&8 girls for 100 m sprint finals.

He called out my name, I got up and dragged Dayna over because she was really nervous like me but I just wasn't really showing it. Waiting at the starting line my heart was pounding because everyone was watching, I tried to keep myself together. "Boom" the gun went off, I hesitated for 1 millisecond then sprinted for my life, Dayna not far in front and Kyra not far in front of Dayna. It was so close but Kyra was 1st, Dayna was 2nd and I was 3rd, all the other years and genders raced and got their placings.

Everyone had done there 100 m sprint finals then we did our house relays, the Rimu year 7&8 girls that did the relays were Kyra, Keira, Nevaea and me. I was first then Nevaea was 2nd, Keira 3rd and Kyra 4th, I started the race off in the front then Kyra finished off the race in 1st place. Everyone else did their relays then we finished it up and went home, I went to music sign up then home and just rested for the rest of the day.
