Lock down Horse

During Lock down we have friends staying with us and one of them bikes with me in the evening down to see the horses at the end of our street. Their names are Marti and Star, Lela is the one that bikes with me and she is really good with horses. We like to take him carrots and puha to feed them because its really good for them. At the beginning  Marti was scared of the lead rope and didn't feel safe around people. Marti is a really sweet horse but retired from racing at only seven years old after only 16 races because he started bleeding from the lungs, Unfortunately this is very common amongst race horses becuase they are pushed beyond their bodies natural limits. She's trying to train Marti and maybe get him good enough to ride, he has really improved since the first day and is learning to trust people again through us being kind to him, maybe by the end of lock down we might be able to ride him.

  1. Eden you are lucky to have friends staying with you through the lock-down. I've learnt something about racehorses. Thank you for sharing and maybe by the end of lock-down you could be riding Marti.
